Conversation Design patterns are essential for building conversational AI that's clear, trustworthy, and actually focused on what customers need. As AI systems become more capable, reasoning through problems, taking action, handling back-and-forth conversations, the quality of how they interact isn't just a nice-to-have anymore. It's core to the product itself.

This course gives you a practical framework of Conversation Design patterns that work across different types of systems: traditional rule-based assistants, modern LLM-powered ones, and everything in between. Rather than diving into specific tools or code, we focus on the design decisions that shape how AI agents actually behave, how they confirm they've understood you, guide you through tasks, recover when things go wrong, avoid overwhelming you, and keep conversations moving naturally.

The patterns we cover are reusable solutions you can apply to conversation flows, system logic, and prompts. Each lesson tackles real challenges that conversational AI teams face and shows how these patterns help you create consistent, human-centered experiences at scale.
