Omnimodal Design: The New Design Stack for the Age of AI

Design is shifting fast under AI, and few designers have a map. In this webinar, Anne Cantera (Elementyl Intelligence) unpacks the Adaptive Design Stack: how existing design skills carry into an AI-driven career, and which new skills are actually worth your time. Think of it as a new design Bible for the AI era.

Synopsis
Design isn't dead, it's being redistributed. As AI reshapes what designers build and how they work, the label "AI-native designer" has become a reductive catch-all that obscures more than it explains.

In this webinar, Anne Cantera, a multidisciplinary designer spanning graphic, web, UX/UI, and conversation design, introduces her framework for what's actually changing: the Adaptive Design Stack, six forces now shaping every user experience:
  • Language: how meaning and intent are structured
  • Interface: multimodal, omnimodal, adaptive, generative surfaces
  • Agents: tool and action design, swarms, autonomy boundaries
  • Journey: end-to-end flows, escalation paths, state and handoff design
  • Judgment: evaluation, QA, and confabulation analysis
  • Governance: model behavior design, monitoring, continuous improvement

Anne will introduce several original concepts from her practice, including elastic design systems (components that self-place inside a self-building interface), continuity architecture (seamless handoffs across voice, chat, SMS, and human/AI agents), and confabulation analysis (a practical method for diagnosing and fixing AI hallucinations).

The session grounds these ideas in near-term, practical examples: queryable forms replacing static mobile forms; modality routing that shifts a user from voice to text mid-experience based on context and cognitive load; and spec-driven AI development, where PRDs, ADRs, and intent/language systems come before prompting.

Rather than another list of AI tools or predictions about the future of design, this is a new design Bible for the AI era: a practical framework for understanding what designers already know, what is genuinely changing, and where to build new capability.
If you're trying to figure out what AI means for your design career, this session will give you a clearer map — and something concrete to bring back to your team.
